There is no case on record of a case of rabies from a claw scratch. The virus can survive only until it dries out, a matter of a few minutes. Also, like any disease, there is a minimum amount of virus that needs to be introduced (in this case directly into the blood stream) in order to overcome the immune system and cause disease. If a couple of stray virus or bacteria could make us sick, we would never be well.
